MONTROSE FOOTBALL CLUB RE-LOCATION
Due to the major re-development taking place at the Montrose Recreation Reserve, which includes upgrading the main oval and developing a new training facility at the back oval, all teams of the Montrose Football Club have had to be relocated for season 2008. This includes all associated activities of the club including the FIDA Disability clinics, Auskick and the newly formed Youth/Girls team. ( see full details this page). While there is a sense of excitement at the prospect of returning in 2009 to the new facilities it has been an extremely busy time during this off-season to source alternate venues. The Board of Management at MFC would like to thank the committee of the Kilsyth Football Club and the Eastern Ranges for their assistance in negotiating sharing arrangements to accommodate our Senior and Junior teams on match days. We would also like to acknowledge the generosity of the Montrose Primary School for making their oval available for Auskick and the Disability clinics. Without such support these activities would not have been able to continue through this year and we genuinely appreciate the help received to enable them to do so. SENIOR TEAMS - Colts, Reserves and Seniors will play at Pinks Reserve, Liverpool Road, Kilsyth ( Mel ref 51 G8). First home game : Saturday April 26th, 2008. Practice Match Info: Saturday 21st March Montrose vs Upper FTG at UFTG Saturday 28th March Montrose vs Lilydale at Lilydale Saturday 4th April Montrose vs Mt. Evelyn at Pink's Reserve, Kilsyth. Club members clear out old pavillion February marked the final clear out and working bee for the footy club. The old rooms looking even more sad and tired when everything had gone. However it was all done with an air of excitement as the start of the new building moves closer. The demolition should take place by the end of March and then it will be all systems go! The club thanks those volunteers who have worked on several Sunday mornings to pack up and clear out the old building, and also Storage King who have generously sponsored the storage of equipment and furniture until we move back into the new facility.
